Wardrobe Overhaul Advice Needed /u/throwaway31005 /r/malefashionadvice

Wardrobe Overhaul Advice Needed /u/throwaway31005 /r/malefashionadvice

Hi Everyone! I just threw out a ton of stuff in my closet and need to start building a wardrobe out again. I realized I had a lot of stuff from high school still and that needs to change as I now approach 30. A little about my sizing since some vendors don’t carry my sizes. I am 6’5, typically wear a 2xl or 3xl tall (the necessity for tall is depending on how they run) depending on the sizing, a size 12.5 men’s shoe, and 30/40 pants. Below, I have accumulated what I could find on this subreddit that I liked and is in my price range. Any opinions on brands that are listed are welcome. My job is somewhat mobile throughout the day, so comfort definitely matters, but my primary goal is clothing to go out in on weekends and be well dressed, but not over dressed.

Shoes: Right now, I have 1 pair of Redwings that I love, and some sketchers that I wear for work, I am pretty mobile throughout the day and need something comfortable. I am usually a 12 or 12.5, if that matters for availability of suggestions.

Vans – Uniform Series 1 – Thursday (I like the Matte Blacks) – Nike Air Force One’s

Shirts: I need new T-shirts as well, both for casual and to wear under button up’s, which are also something I am looking for. I’m 6’5 for reference, typically a 2XLT

American Giant – Proper Cloth – Charles Tyrwhitt

Pants: I have historically worn whatever JC Penny has, work and weekend pants are the same usually. Size 30/40ish

Bearbottoms -Carhartt

I also need a belt or two, not sure where to start there. I have a history of belts breaking, so something that can last a long time is ideal, and something that gives me really flexibility with the amount of holes.

Professional and casual leather backpack around 500€ maximum. /u/Tahzgard /r/malefashionadvice

Hi everyone

I will leave college and start working as an engineer in a luxury company in about a month. Therefore, I’m looking for a nice leather backpack for casual and professional use. I usually wear a polo, a blank shirt, or a dress shirt with sometimes a suit jacket. I’d like it to be easily reparable by a professional for it to stand the test of time.

I would like to stay under 500€ if possible. I carry a 14″ laptop, a tablet, and a notepad on a daily basis on top of my phone, a pencil, a few pens, and a water bottle. I’d also really like the bag to hold it’s shape by itself, even when half full or empty.

I really like the aesthetic of the lotuff leather backpack but it’s way to expensive for me. l’m open to suggestions regarding other shapes

What brands / backpacks would you recommend me?

Men of a certain age… /u/DojoPat /r/malefashionadvice

I’m older than most folks on this subreddit. I’ve written an essay about my wardrobe dilemma after retiring from corporate life. Maybe you’ll find it entertaining:

No paywall etc. You can just click to the Substack article without subscribing.

What happened to Fenton and Melvin in the epilogue? Did they survive? 🤔

We saw Melvin and his idiot brother Fenton in a single mission in chapter 3 but dont see them at all after that? I curious to know what happened to them and their moon shine selling business.
