Murloc Monday – ask your questions here /u/AutoModerator World of Warcraft

Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!

That’s murloc for “Welcome to Murloc Mondays” – where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.

Questions can range from what’s new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?

Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.

Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!

You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!

Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.

Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you’re returning after a very long break, check out the WoW Returning Players Guide.

Alpha is almost here, so remember: give feedback early and give feedback often. Never go “It’s only Alpha/Beta, it’s gonna get fixed”. /u/Caua539 World of Warcraft

Alpha is almost here, so remember: give feedback early and give feedback often. Never go “It’s only Alpha/Beta, it’s gonna get fixed”. /u/Caua539 World of Warcraft

With a new expansion testing period comes the usual people saying “Oh, it’s only alpha/beta/PTR, why are you complaining so much, it’s still unfinished, they are obviously gonna change it before launch”. Friendly reminder: always ignore these people.

Never assume something is gonna be changed without any feedback, never assume Blizzard QA is gonna catch something themselves, never assume someone else is obviously going to point this out and it’s gonna get fixed. Yes, chances are most of the obviously unfinished things are gonna get finished, but most often the not, lots of things slip through and get pushed to a later patch or are never touched upon again (for example, story beats).

Also, not all feedback is complaining. All complaining is feedback (even the most useless complaints are still feedback that Blizzard folk can look at and decide if it’s valid or not), yes, but not all feedback is complaining. So if you’re giving honest, calm and collected feedback and someone tries to call you out saying “WoW players are never happy!!!”, again, just ignore them.

Blizzard was never really that good at giving us public information about known issues or feedback they intend to act upon, which makes sense, as a software dev myself, I always never make promises about what I’m gonna work on and given their size, I don’t expect them to either. So since we can’t ever know what Blizzard is aware of, every feedback, no matter how obvious, is important.

And lastly, I know Blizzard takes feedback from many places, like reddit or twitter, but I imagine it’s always best to give feedback directly to them on the forums and/or feedback forms and such.

Tired of saving Azeroth alone. Anyone need a friend? /u/Zedds_Hoard World of Warcraft

As the title indicates, I’m tired and fed up with adventuring alone, finding good friends in game is so disgustingly difficult.

I’m on EU Server – Argent Dawn (RP) and I’ve been playing for about 4 months. I love the game and I wish I got involved earlier. Dragonflight is freaking awesome.

What’s not awesome is how rushed and antisocial everyone is.

I play a priest, and I love healing / support roles (If im not tanking. Tanking is my first love). Keeping my friends alive is top tier gaming for me. Predicting aggro, damage windows, debuffs… it’s a thrill. I have a running personal goal of never letting a party member die (if its within my ability to save them). Despite trying my best and trying to spark a discussion or complimenting others on how well they did, I rarely see a response. Not even a “wp”.

“Try finding a guild.” Oh yeah, with the guild finder tool? Yeah I think we ALL know that is just a gimic UI function. It doesn’t work. I even tried asking players about their guilds or if they know any guilds that are looking for a Heal/DPS. Rarely a positive response… normally no response at all.

Are people afraid to communicate? Or are they in a rush? Do they see this as “Solo Leveling” and pug everything? Is this the norm or should I just move to another server?

How do you find friends or a community? It seems like the barrier to entry is just bizarrely high or no one cares.

I daydream of making some friends and adventure through Azeroth together. Smack a few raid bosses, roleplay being a badass, dominate a battleground or simply just us sharing dumb collections we’ve completed in game… is that so farfetched?

Rant over. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Edit: Hi everyone, I wasn’t expecting this large of a response. I’m lost for words. I didn’t realise I wasn’t alone. Thank you so much to everyone reaching out to me and giving suggestions. I’m going to add you all and we’re definitely going to adventure together. I promise. I want to be friends with all of you.

a friend told me to post this on this sub. in case you were wondering, he is a monk. he has the ashen mawsworn halberd with the night fae covenant enchantment on it

(not long after I posted him on twitter, a streamer apparently reposted him, but I made him in about 5 to 10 minutes so it’s not a big deal)
