​r/wow This season is the first time ever when I decided to take the game seriously (played in BFA for maybe 3 weeks and DF for about 4 weeks) and as a ret/prot pala main I’ve decided to tackle m+ dungeons, today I’ve gotten into +10 Dawnbreaker as a tank and with some absolute madlads we handled every enounter almost perfectly and completed the key with 2m30s to spare. ​r/wow I guess there was a ban wave for botters recently and I got caught up in it, so I am writing this more as cautionary tale. I know y’all are probably used to seeing “I didn’t do anything I swear!!” posts when ban waves well… This is not that… I did it, I am just a fucking idiot who should’ve googled around before attempting. So a bit of context I recently started on acquiring the Dead Blanchy mount and if you don’t know you have to stand in one place (sometime for more than an hour) to intercept Blanchy and fill her requirements. So the first time I started doing it,I got logged out cause I parked myself at the spawn point and waited and didn’t interact with the game. I HATE waiting so in my infinite wisdom I was like “oh I just got this fancy new Razer keyboard, I can create macros! I will create a macro that will make me jump every so often so that I don’t go AFK”. Well therein lies my demise,if I had the foresight I would’ve googled “Are keyboard macros allowed in WoW” or something similar but nope I wanted my mount and I went right ahead and did it. I would do my dailies and then park myself in Revendreth,turn up the volume on my computer so I could hear the alert from Rarescanner and hit my macro and go do chores. I did this for four days straight Welp,I go to login and my account is suspended for six months. I did try to contact support and even admitted what I did but they said all decisions are final. Shit sucks, but I guess i will just grin and bear it. Did the crime now gotta do my time. Maybe I will take up heroin to replace my WoW fix. Before you say “this can’t be all”,I swear on my recently deceased cat’s grave that this is all I did. If you think there is “more” to this story than I am sorry I can’t help you. It does suck to think that there are massive amounts of bots out there gaming the AH and my dumb ass gets got for trying to get a mount.
