Welcome to the Monthly Game Suggestions Thread!

Do you not know what to play? You found a niche game that everyone should try? Can’t find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you. This monthly megathread is meant to contain questions about what to play and suggestions to others on what to play.

Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with “What should I play?”, please be in-depth in what type of games you are looking for, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you’re more detailed than “I think X game is good”. There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, like-wise commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value.

The main purpose of this thread is to contain questions on what to play and advice to others on what to play, but feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, or just general games discussion.

Deal says weekend and 3 May (2 weeks) /u/coolman7055 Steam on Reddit

When I don’t have money black ops 3 goes on sale. I saw that it says weekend deal which is not long enough until I get paid But, it also says 3 may.

Does this mean that the sale is ending on Monday or 3rd of May? This is so I know if I should wait or ask someone for money and pay them back.

I need this to be explained to me in the simplest terms ever

I’ve been looking into buying stuff from the Steam community market and Marketplace.tf, only looking for Team Fortress 2 cosmetics like hats, shirts, accessories, and whatnot. I’m very new to Steam and PC gaming in general and I’m hesitant to go ahead and buy anything without knowing what I’m doing and spending money on something I don’t even know I’ll get. I’ve been trying to use google and look around for some sort of easy explanation to what it is but everything feels way too complicated to me to understand.

Who first installed Steam after buying the Half-Life collection PC game box? /u/igmyeongui Steam on Reddit

I remember being shocked that I had to install Steam and enter my CD keys in order to play. I didn’t understand the point of having a game launcher. Never would have I believed that one day most of my games would be in this launcher and that could connect to a Steam Deck. Hey man in 20 years there’ll be a giant gameboy which will play your pc games but the battery life will suck! From all the companies out there that are enshitifying, I’m glad to say Steam is still one of the best platform out there.
