Possible info I’m missing about Raging Brachy /u/fruticusbruticus Monster Hunter: World

I’ve done him successfully a few times but when I join up with others, it seems like they take pretty significantly less damage by his huge slime puddles at the final area. I’m a lance main, so a little less agile than others and I feel bad I can’t really do shit at the end bit. I’ve got maxed blast res, is there something I’m missing out on slotting to help mitigate that damage?
