why are japanese players killing themselves at camp to fail mission? /u/Isawaytoseeit Monster Hunter: World

I’ve seen few of those the pasts days now.. are they just bored at after hundreds of hours?

they are doing something to die at spawns and then mission fails

did anyone else have the same experience ? (edits) think the title is little weird now that I look at it, it’s just all of them were very likely japanese so i wanted to make it clear for information(i play on ps5). I have many japanese friends on PlayStation if anyone japanese read this don’t take this wrong way and know many japanese player helped me and we hunted together

What’s the one weapon you don’t like? /u/Standard-Bedroom127 Monster Hunter: World

For me it’s switch axe. It was the first weapon I picked up in this series but it just never clicked for me and still doesn’t.

Just killed my 1st AT, it was Zorah /u/Carlos_de_la_Puenta Monster Hunter: World

I was quite surprised as well, because I had less than 20s remaining on timer. Just wanted to boast a little, that’s it 🤟 quite happy about it, onto my next tempered dragons, later other ATs and eventually IceBorne.

400hrs+ on Elden Ring and I try Monster Hunter /u/wryytart Monster Hunter: World

400hrs+ on Elden Ring and I try Monster Hunter /u/wryytart Monster Hunter: World

It was confusing until it wasn’t.

I’m usually the guy who seek out new games for the guys to play together, we beat Elden Ring together with the seamless co-op mod. When someone recommended we should try Monster Hunter, I was intrigued, so I look up some video to familiarize myself with the franchise, I also see that there is a free demo for MH Rise,…

It was not fun for me, coming straight out of Elden Ring

After much, much more time passed, we moved on to different co-op games, like Remnant 2, Baldur’s Gate 3,…But I really want to click with Monster Hunter, so the research cycle starts again. I got myself a fresh copy of Monster Hunter World,

It was still the same, I did not feel joy for the first 4 hours.

The questionable keyboard layout, confusing menus, the lack of a lock-on feature (my monkey brain has been spoiled by Elden Ring and I cannot hit anything without the lock on), the confusing quest and gameplay design choices (namely no monster health bar). I feel like I’m not doing any damage, whiffing multiple attacks, aiming slinger feels off and on and on (nothing wrong with the graphics though, very nice graphics)

But then 5 hours into the game, it clicked.

I wasn’t clicking with heavy weapons (yet), but I found my calling with the Dual Blades, the combos feel fluid, the monster tracking feels fun, expeditions are great, the menu is still kinda confusing though. Every time I return from a quest or an expedition, I always feel excited for a new armor or a new weapon upgrade. (I think those are the signs that I’m clicking with the game)

I’m currently 12 hours into the game, please give me some more guidance, can’t wait to show this to the guys.

Edit: I’d like to add one more gripe I have for the experience right now is to unsheathe my weapon to do anything, picking up random shit, drinking a potion or grinding your weapons, yes I get that you need to put away your weapon, but why do I have to tap the input twice?
