I don’t like Kushala Daora /u/Gigasnemesis Monster Hunter: World

I started MH World almost since a week now, and I enjoy it alot. However, i really don’t like enemies that spend 90% of their time flying, and Kushala Daora is the height of this concept for now.

He’s only difficult in my point of view because of that, and the fact that he has many ways to stop you from fighting back and cancel you attacks : – Yells alot – Some of his range wind attacks have an AOE that bumps you – If you get too close to try a combo, there is wind around his body that pushes you back.

And for an unknown reason his wind jostles incapacitate me longer in comparison of the other bosses.

I enjoyed and defeated alone the other 2 ancient dragons of that part of the game (one having miasma around him, and the other was like a lion-dragon with fire). They were though, especially the fire lion one, but I loved their fights, it felt fair to me. But for Kushala, I really don’t enjoy it. I’ll just invite some players tomorrow when I come back from work and get rid of it.

Just finished the game's main story

Yesterday I defeated Velkhana after replaying the whole game, I knew I got better, I could feel it, after her I fought the last four enemies and it was underwhelming. I don’t know if it’s the weapon I picked that made things easier

(Charge blade for Vaal hazak)

(Gunlance against namielle)

(Hammer for Nergigante and Shara)

I thought it would take me weeks to defeat them but I got them first try. The Nergigante one was easy since I had fought him for hours so I knew him by instinct, I only had to make some small adjustments. So I guess next are Alatreon Saji’jiva and Fatalis.

Also quick question, but are the kulve taroth weapons mandatory? I don’t have the Xbox subscription and I don’t feel like doing her solo since from what I understood she scales for multiplayer even if I’m doing it solo.

Non-taxing weapons for disabled player /u/Xayden Monster Hunter: World

Hi all! I’m new to the series and have a quick question: are there any weapons that are easy on the hands?

I’ve a chronic injury to my right hand, so I’m wanting for a weapon that isn’t too taxing. My first choice was the Long Sword (because it’s a Katana) and I found that it requires more dexterity than I currently have to use (namely the Spirit mechanic thingy). If it helps, due to my injury, I’m left-handed and often play on console (PS5); so I usually use its Accessibility feature to map the buttons I need to either L1, L2, or L3.

Some similar posts I found here regarding this:

A fair amount of the responses in there mention using the lance; so I’ll trying that out when I get the time, but that was years ago and I was wondering if there might’ve been a change or not as to whether or not there might now be a better option available. In any case, a preemptive thank you for your help.

“What a Wonderful World” : Thank you, MHW. /u/TheSkullhunterYT Monster Hunter: World

First off, I’ll preface this by saying; Happy 7th Anniversary, Monster Hunter World.

With that, and the release of Wilds coming soon, I just wanted to say a few words regarding this game, and my experience with it. This fantastic, chaotic, brilliant game, and what it means to me.

Back in 2020, I was in a fairly rough spot, as I’m sure many others were due to COVID. Not a lot of friends left, everybody drifting away, just how life goes. At the time, a relatively new friend of mine recommended a game to me that they’d recently picked up, saying that it was multiplayer-focused, and that it’d be fun to have our little friend group play it together. I bought it since I saw it was on sale, and as I’m sure you can guess, it was MHW. I was… skeptical at first. I’ve always been someone who’s into survival/shooter games, so it looked like a massive change of pace. However, the creature designs, the promise of this “Interconnected Ecosystem”, and the artstyle really stood out. The opening with Zorah rising out of the sea, the first arrival to Astera, the towering trees of the Ancient Forest, everything about this game seemed…. Massive. And yet, at that point, I had no idea of the true scale of the game.

Here I am now, five years later, and 500 hours in; Full Fatalis Gear, currently working on completing a true 100% of the game. This game, this World, it’s not quite anything I’ve ever experienced before. I know it is just a game, but the amount of impact it’s had in my life is nothing short of amazing. The friends that introduced me to it are now my best friends, those who I care about the most. It inspired me to think about the way games like these were made, the process of how environments were designed, and ultimately sparked my interest in joining the game dev industry as a career. Finally, it showed just how great a game can be. None of the microtransactions or battle passes of games today, nor reskinned content. This game had an immense amount of time and care put into it. Even now, I’m in awe of how many small details there are; from the subtle behaviors of monsters, to the details of part breaks, to the way the environment interacts with everything. After this many hours playing, I keep discovering new things, and I love that. It never gets old, it always feels fresh.

The Monster Hunter community as a whole is one of the best I’ve interacted with; I’ve never had a negative experience, nor anyone being toxic. Even when I’ve absolutely been the reason for a failed quest, everyone is understanding, wishing me luck for the next one, never angry or trash-talking. Even at Fatalis, someone from SoS was responsible for teaching me the dragon pod stagger mechanic he has.

Ultimately, what I’m trying to say is this one simple thing; Thank you.

Thank you to the devs, who made this game a reality.

Thank you to the artists, who made unique designs for everything.

Thank you to the community, who kept this game thriving for the better part of a decade at this point,

And thank you, to everyone.

Every hunt.

Every faint.

Every piece of gear crafted.

Every siege completed.

Every combo missed.

Every monster accidentally killed in a capture quest.

Whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing, every single thing you’ve done has contributed to the rare magic of this game. Every single one of you has contributed to this, whether you only recently started, or if you’ve played every single title.

I thank you all for such an amazing experience.

I hope to see you all in Wilds.

May the Sapphire Star light your way, Fivers.
