What should i do if i have a 26 inch waist and want to wear jeans? /u/Big_Champion8286 /r/malefashionadvice

I been trying to look for answers but cant find any, im struggling so hard to find well suited jeans and pants for my waist. Im from the UK and it seems like people from the UK have limited options. I always end up on American websites whenever i find a good pair of jeans. I need a few suggestions, currently im thinking about finding a tailor to shorten the waist on my jeans but it might be require alot of effort since most jeans are 30 inch waist or above. Im not in a position right now to gain weight either since its a struggle atm.

How do you get perfectly wrinkle free cotton sweaters after washing? (like new in the store) /u/I_ask_questions_thx /r/malefashionadvice

How do you get perfectly wrinkle free cotton sweaters after washing? (like new in the store) /u/I_ask_questions_thx /r/malefashionadvice

I’m talking about thick cotton sweaters or thick cotton t-shirts.

I can never get it to be wrinkle free like when I first bought them at the store. Here is what I tried.

– Gentle Wash Cold – Rack Dry Only (I avoid the dryer since it would cause Pilling)

– I use Tide Liquid detergent, no fabric softener, but have tried some white vinegar as a replacement.

I always end up with some light wrinkling. Am I suppose to iron the shirts? Do the factories where the shirts/sweaters are made have some kind of large scale steam press?

Iron with starch?

Examples:

https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E453754-000/00?colorDisplayCode=03&sizeDisplayCode=003

https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E475295-000/00?colorDisplayCode=31&sizeDisplayCode=003

Business casual for a 20 year old /u/hotushsbfixne /r/malefashionadvice

Just got an engineering internship and was told the dress code is “business casual”. Being a 20 year old male my whole wardrobe is hoodies and cargo pants… need help deciding what clothing to buy that would be appropriate for my age. Links and advice would be appreciated.

Lanvin DBB1 cap toe sizing? /u/Hoppasduskratta /r/malefashionadvice

Lanvin DBB1 cap toe sizing? /u/Hoppasduskratta /r/malefashionadvice

Hi! Im thinking about buying lanvin DBB1 cap toe but I’m not quite sure about the sizing. I saw some sizing guides on the internet and according to that I should be getting a EU 46. I measured my foot and it’s 28.5 cm and maybe someone who owns them can help me. My Philippe models are 45. Some said you should go down a size with lanvins as well.

Custom Dress Shirt /u/wooperfan7728 /r/malefashionadvice

(Duplicate post from r/mensfashion. Wasn’t sure if this was allowed but I couldn’t find a rule that says it isn’t)
Hello all. I am in the process of getting a suit and I need a dress shirt. I am 5’4″ and around 100lbs so very short and very skinny. Evidently, I need to have everything custom made as nothing really exists in anything close to my size. I have heard a lot of good things about Charles Tyrwhitt and would like to get a shirt from them, however they do not have any brick and mortar stores in my area so I would need to take measurements myself and order online. Budget and time are not limiting factors. Would it be a good idea to do this? The back of my mind tells me I should just go somewhere in person where they know what they’re doing and can take proper measurements and the like.

Combining formal and casual clothes /u/tmc08130 /r/malefashionadvice

Combining formal and casual clothes /u/tmc08130 /r/malefashionadvice

I have seen many layering guides but seems nobody talks about the importance of formality. Just want to share some personal thoughts.

(1) First of all your base layers tell them all, so if you are wearing t-shirt, jeans and sneakers, you can formalize it by throwing on some dressy pieces, but it is still casual by its nature, vice versa.

(2) Each layer can’t go too far. Layering a dressy blazer on a hoodie or a ski jacket on a suit will not going to look good. Some good examples might be duffle coat on hoodie or fishtail parka on a suit.

(3) Layering your clothes from casual to formal or formal to casual. It can go wrong if you don’t follow the levels of formality. For example if you are wearing a Henley shirt as base layer, then throwing on a blazer and finishing with a down parka. It can be confusing that whether you want to casualize or formalize it. Of course I think this is a rule you can break, but it would require some techniques.

What decent quality XL shirts do you guys with bellies wear /u/DontBeAGandon /r/malefashionadvice

I can’t wear Large shirts anymore as I’ve gained some weight the last few months but not excessive. Most shirts are just tight around my belly and love handle area and I just want some decent quality brands that are normal and don’t feel tight. When I go to stores I tend to find a lot more slim shirts and was hoping you guys can recommend some decent brands for regular shirts to just wear on casual nights out or for everything really. This seems like a weird ask I know I need to cut some weight but for the meantime I need some XL shirts that look nice and not oversized. Thank you
