can I wear a collared shirt under a thin long sleeve? /u/Steve_FS /r/malefashionadvice

Usually I see collared shirts beneath thick sweaters, but I get so warm. Is it tacky to wear a collared shirt beneath a thin long sleeve? I’m trying to sport a beige shirt with a collar under a black thin long-sleeve shirt with beige slacks.

What are your suggestions for an “everyday” pair of pants/trousers? /u/Smashbru /r/malefashionadvice

What are your suggestions for an “everyday” pair of pants/trousers? /u/Smashbru /r/malefashionadvice

Like everyone else, looking for something comfortable, can be worn casual or business casual.

Something like these in terms of style/fit.

I personally find a lot of jeans and chinos too rigid and not very soft. I have a couple pairs of chinos from a long time ago that i really like, but they’re getting old.

I’ve been wearing a lot of joggers at home for comfort, but want something a bit more… less sweatpants for going in public lol.

Any suggestions?

Comfortable/soft, looks decent. My only real difficulty personally is I want something a bit “heavier” fabric so it’s not blowing all over the place in the wind, but also not papery? Like, thicker joggers or chinos that I’ve worn in a good amount so they’re soft are the go-to in terms of feel

Price range I’d probably be willing to spend up to $200?

Complimenting date’s dress /u/getyoutogabba /r/malefashionadvice

My date is wearing a Navy blue dress. The dress code of the restaurant reads “We politely request smart, sophisticated and elegant attire”.

I was thinking of a simple gray blazer, dark pants and white shirt. Can anyone give me more stylish ideas please? I would not like to stand out, but don’t want to be too basic either.

Wearing trousers semi casually? /u/Winter-Summer7119 /r/malefashionadvice

How do you style trousers to not look super formal? What are the general rules? I don’t know why one thing looks good and another doesn’t.

I recently tried pairing a white wool sweater with some dark navy blue trousers and they both look like they belong to different outfits.

Any black men that dressed like Paul Newman? /u/Justincy901 /r/malefashionadvice

I like the fashion of Miles Davis when he was younger, and I like some of the black male models get-ups on sites like Buck Mason. But I’m looking for a relatively well-known black men of today or yesteryear that dressed like Paul Newman for my fashion inspo.
