Does a brown tweed suit and light pink pinstripe shirt go together? /u/Decent-Chipmunk-5437 /r/malefashionadvice

I have a really nice dark brown tweed suit that’s great for winter, but not many shirts to match it so it’s underutilised (I’m not a fan of white shirts)

I do have a few light pink shirts with thin vertical stripes and I can’t decide whether this is a clash, or works well. What are your thoughts Reddit?

Has anyone tried He Spoke Style Suits? /u/CrypticMillennial /r/malefashionadvice

Hey all, I’m looking to get a MTM suit in the near future.

I’ve looked at Suit Supply etc, but my build doesn’t really lean that way (fairly thick thighs and athletic built)…from what I’ve read, SS is more geared towards the slim guys.

These suits from He Spoke Style (Brian Sacawa), look really good (I cannot post a picture here some reason…maybe will try in the comments).

Has anyone tried them?

From what I understand they’re made by Michael Andrews Bespoke in NYC.

(The suit I’m looking at:

https://hespokestyle.com/product/navy-blue-narrow-chalk-stripe-flannel-suit/ ) Thanks

(edit: posted a pic of the suit I’m looking at in the comments)

Are you familiar with Japanese men’s clothing sizing? I need your help. /u/vsv38 /r/malefashionadvice

I live in the States and want to buy some jackets from Japan. They’re made in Japan. Unfortunately, the CS of this company, Rocky Mountain Featherbed, is very slow in responding. Sometimes they won’t even respond. They think based on my height and chest measurement, I should buy a jacket in size 42. Even 43! I’m 185 cm tall, chest 98 cm. I always wear size M, and I want my clothes to be snug, and not ‘relaxed’. X Grok tells me size 42 is considered Large in Japan. Anyone know? The sizes this brand has are: 38, 40, 42, 44, etc. Thank you for your help!

Does Charles Tyrwhitt have waist size variation within a particular product? /u/axkoam /r/malefashionadvice

Does Charles Tyrwhitt have waist size variation within a particular product? /u/axkoam /r/malefashionadvice

I just bought a pair of the 5 pocket corduroy pants from Charles Tyrwhitt and they run way tigher in the waist than my Levi’s jeans and Banana Republic chinos. 1 vs. the 2 is not measuring correctly (all waist 30″). Is there a chance Charles Tyrwhitt would have variation in the same product if I ordered the same exact pair again, or should I expect the quality control to have it the same, even if the measurement is wrong in the first place?

Shirts for men with bigger upper backs? /u/Hara-Kiri /r/malefashionadvice

Shirts for men with bigger upper backs? /u/Hara-Kiri /r/malefashionadvice

I keep trying shirts on but they are all tight over the shoulders and upper back which causes lots of unflattering creases. I’m 5 foot 8 so sizing up makes them way too long. I’m after casual shirts so I don’t really want to have to tuck them.

Does anyone have any ideas for shirt brands which offer a wider f!t at the top? I like them relatively slim around the waist. I’m not keen on the athletic brands which seem to want to shove you into something skin tight. Ideally I’m looking at paying under £100.

Guys who bought (100%/real/genuine) leather jackets costing under £300 – how long do/can they last typically? /u/dellboy696 /r/malefashionadvice

Guys who bought (100%/real/genuine) leather jackets costing under £300 – how long do/can they last typically? /u/dellboy696 /r/malefashionadvice

(I know such leather is likely low quality – this is the type of leather I’m asking about, not some high quality horse hide from a named tannery in Italy or something!) I’m hoping to get away with some TKMaxx leather jackets for £100 or less, original price £200-£300. Leather is labelled as above, some even say 100% lamb leather. All made in India or Pakistan. Polyester linings. Some have YKK zippers.

How long would that last typically? If I take good care of them can I get 5-10 years or more out of them? And what exactly happens to it at the end of its “life”? Does the leather disintegrate or something? Or do you just tear it easily by accident? Or does the lining fail first? etc

And for such leather jackets, do you bother with leather conditioning products?

(if I were to go for an actual decent real REAL leather jacket I’d go with Aero in Scotland but I don’t fancy paying £1000 for one. My thinking is that instead of a single £1000 jacket that lasts 20 years, I’d rather go for 8 x £100 jackets that each last 2.5 years lol. More designs for less money!)

What’s the RRP for this Balenciaga hoodie? /u/AspiringBusiness /r/malefashionadvice

The subreddit does not let me attach an image but it’s a black hoodie with the brand name on the front of it, with the year it was founded beneath it.

The key differentiation is the brand name “BALENCIAGA” is tilted on a few letters. Commonly referred to as the “Balenciaga Flip Hoodie”, but when searching that I only get resellers or varying RRPs.
