​r/DunderMifflin So Michael Scott once said, “I am running a business, and it is a great business. I make great decisions. You guys make good decisions too. But I am always gonna be in charge. Always!” Then he goes and opens a “Dundie Awards” box to fund the company’s annual Christmas party… Michael, buddy, we get it, but maybe try using that world-class business mind for actual revenue-generating ideas instead of handing out trophies to people for “Best Mom Jeans” or “Best [Blank] on the Block”?? ​r/DunderMifflin how is everyone liking the new season???? I didn’t know when it was gonna be out but I saw it the other day and I’m stoked!! this is the closest I can get to watching the show for the first time. it’s awesome. also side note- does anyone else just watch the whole series of the plain office then switch to superfans when that’s over then go back???? my boyfriend thinks I’m crazy for it haha but it’s my comfort show as I’m sure it is most of us here too lmfao submitted by /u/redrumredrum13 [link] [comments]

​r/DunderMifflin If you were in Jim’s place, and your wife was also fearful of moving to another city even though it could be a great opportunity for your family to lead a better life and quite possibly, the life you dreamed of, would you have sacrificed that? As much as I like her, this thing about Pam really nagged me, how she was always afraid to take risks and leave her comfort zone. ​r/DunderMifflin So, I’m rewatching The Office and get to the whole “baby contract” situation between Dwight and Angela, where Angela agrees to have Dwight’s child if certain conditions are met. I alway found it to be a weird plot line in their very long will they, wont they relationship. I decided to do some research on the matter to see if the mediatior was right to call it a “solid contract”. Short answer: absolutely not. In the U.S., such a contract would be unenforceable on numerous grounds: Public Policy – Courts won’t enforce contracts that go against public morals or human dignity. Forcing someone to conceive or have a baby. Right to Privacy/Bodily Autonomy – Constitutionally protected rights mean no one can compel you to use your body in a certain way. Griswold v. Connecticut and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. 13th Amendment – It would be a form of involuntary servitude, which is banned. Even if the parties signed willingly, a party cannot contract away such basic rights. No Specific Performance – Courts will not order a person to perform an act that is personal or intimate in nature, such as conceiving a child. Lack of Consideration – Contracts must have the parties exchange consideration, something of value. “Having a baby” is not good enough consideration. I know that the mediator called it a donor contract, but still I think Angela would have never won the case. And no damages should be payed by Dwight.
