A tool for creating maps for DND /u/eita_dnd DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Hello.
I am Japanese.
I’m sorry if I’m using strange English.

Currently, I am creating a DND adventure.
However, I am not good at drawing, so I cannot draw villages or dungeons.

Therefore, please tell me about tools that can create maps that everyone knows.
I prefer tools that do not require a monthly fee and have no additional costs after a one-time purchase. Also, it would be good if they are somewhat well-known so that I can get replies when I ask on Reddit.

Dual wielding and the AC bonus 2024 players hand book /u/deevob DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Does anyone know if dual-wielding still grants a plus 1 to AC? If so where in the rules would 1 find it. I’ve searched online and a lot of different sites say yes but it seems to be stricken from the rules. Kinda ramps up dual wielding and dumbs it down at the same time.

Can a Creature with BlindSight make a Perception check? /u/Sorry_Conclusion9714 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Can a Creature with BlindSight make a Perception check? /u/Sorry_Conclusion9714 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Recently I’ve been playing with some friends in an Underdark Campaign with some homebrew, and my choice for a character was a Giant Sapient Scorpion character, with a lot of his racial traits taken from the Giant Scorpion monster in DnD.

One of those being Blindsight, which is basically you can sense vibrations, heartbeats, change in air pressure, and basically can feel and perceive anything that doesn’t require sight. In fact, one of the downsides is that “you automatically fail any ability checks that require sight”.

And one time, when I asked if I can make a perception check, my DM denied it, saying that I don’t have eyes and can’t perceive anything.

The thing is, a Perception check description (at least in dnd beyond) reads as “Allows you to use a combination of senses to notice something that’s easy to miss.” Which I brought up, but was still shutdown in spite of that.

Now, I am by no means against this or hate my dm for it, as all I have to do is ask him if my Scorpion can sense or feel anything amiss, instantly. Buuuuut- I would’ve maybe preferred to be able to make perception checks anyways, since in my head, I thought this is how it would go, months before the campaign started.

Lemme know what you think though on if a Blindsight creature should still be able to make a Perception Check!

Is it hard to find a DM? /u/RollRevolutionary919 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So, in my campaign we were short one player for some stuff since one of them left, so i went into a dnd discord community of my country and when i posted the info about my campaign and stuff, a LOT of people came up to me asking to join.
Like- are Dungeon Masters hard to find? i myself never met one (which means i’ll never be a player .-.)
i also noticed how i was literally the only one who was offering a campaign from the dozens of people there asking to be invited to a campaign which makes me think even more Dungeon Master are actually a rare species lol
