[OC] Sami, my Eladrin Death Cleric /u/ExcellentOpinion725 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

First things first, I did not draw this. I commissioned this from FondlyFramed on Etsy, and they were wonderful. Like, just look at her! The whole idea I had when making this character was to lean into the contradictions of being a Death Domain Cleric, and I think it came out great. The bright armor painted in all the colors of her seasons and then some paired with the zombie eyes signifying she’s not quite a normal anything AAAAAH! LOOK AT HER!

Fuck I love this character, I even lean into the chaotic with rolling my season randomly every long rest (I have DM permission and support to be playing a character this deliberately crazy, it’s great)

My players made a rookie mistake /u/BrunesOnReddit DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So I’m homebrewing a massive magical murder mystery for my closest friends where I live, and they had their first session, which ended with a big combat to make them feel all cool and see if they could work together we’ll. They did, decimating my cultists and dogs and even convincing a caustic slime dragón to simply let them rip the skull off of the dragon skeleton that was controlling it so it can be set free.

The mistake, though, was that they left one cultist alive.

Sure, they knocked him unconscious, and they left him bound and with his tendons injured so as to not run away, but they fully forgot about him in the sewers after the slime was liberated and they left him down there with a full set of dragon bones.

You better believe as a DM I’m making this guy come back to haunt them with a full set of dragonbone armor and weapons in the late game. I’m gonna let cultists number four take his revenge.

The poison saved him /u/stormer454 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So I’m DMing tonight for a 1 on 1 session. Some sessions I had split the party as I had wanted to know the character’s character … what kind of person they are when the world around them starts getting tough. I was DMing for the cleric that had gotten split up and I’m sort of asking “how far can I push a lower level cleric”. To my surprise you can push a lvl 5-6 cleric pretty far, but tonight he nearly died well actually he sort of did. He was just about to escape when the last Giant spider got him on an opportunity attack. He had 8 HP left!! And then the spider did 7 points of piercing damage … and then did the extra 3 poison damage. Because of the way the giant spider bite works “if the poison reduces the target to zero the target is STABLE” … he fell into the underground river and floated away (face up, he got a nat 20) before the other spider could get him

Had the piercing damage done 1 more he would have just died.

(Granted if he had been reduced to zero there would have been a chance that the werewolf in him could have saved him but it’s not a great chance)

Something unbelievable happened… /u/ferdarakanec DnD: Roll for Initiative!

Something unbelievable happened… /u/ferdarakanec DnD: Roll for Initiative!

We were playing DnD with boys last night and our squad got lost in a forest. So i (PC) said: “You know what, i’ll climb this freaking tall tree, look around and see what i see, right?” “Allright,” said the DM, “that’s an acrobatics check.” So i rolled the d20 and 1 happened. Gosh! But! I am halfling, right, so i’ve got this lucky halfling thing when you can reroll the 1. So i did that and i rolled 20! Amazing! From zero to hero.

I climbed that freaking tall tree easily like a freaking monkey, looked around and found the way.

So we continued in our journey, some encounters happened, we were fighting, etc, many d20 rolls happened… and we lost our track again. So i said: “You know what, i’ll climb this tree, look around and see what i see.” “Sure, that’s an acrobatics check.” So i rolled the d20 and 1 happened again! No way! But the lucky halfling thing, sure, okay, let’s reroll… and i rolled 20! It happened again! Exact same situation, exact same rolls! It happened twice, we couldn’t believe it. Laughed for 10 minutes straight and joked around that like freaking kindergarden kids.

It was a good laugh.
