Worst player you have ever DM’ed for? /u/ol-heavy-kevy DnD: Roll for Initiative!

I booted a person recently for fudging dice roles, blatant metagaming, derailing storylines not centered around them, messing with other player’s characters, and for just being a narcissistic asshole. The other player’s forced my hand, though I was happy to do it. Everything has been smooth since.

I’m a newish DM so I’m curious how bad can it get?

“Cool Dwarf Shit” /u/gingerosa108 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

My son (26) is very into DnD and LARP. He asked for “cool dwarf shit” for Christmas. Unfortunately, Google doesn’t help much with that. Just looking for a few fun small things he might like. Any recs? Prefer small business, homemade, not cheap stuff from China. Thanks!!

My Warforged Druid [oc] [art] /u/Woahbikes DnD: Roll for Initiative!

My character is a warforged lumberjack who, after tirelessly felling trees in a dense forest, suddenly experienced a malfunction and broke down. Stranded and lifeless, he was left at the mercy of the natural world. However, the forest’s ancient magic took pity on him, reviving him in a surge of power. Now, with his mechanical body infused with nature’s essence, he has sworn to protect the wilderness as a Circle of the Land Druid, balancing his newfound purpose with his past life as a logger. He sees himself as both a guardian and a steward of the forest.

Player left the party; what to do with the bitchy PC /u/Tenoi-chan DnD: Roll for Initiative!

The player who was “I don’t control my character, it is what she would do” left the party in scandal. Well, anyway, what do I do with his character, PC1?

Before we took a break, party split, with two other PCs going ahead to fulfill the main quest, and leaving PC1 behind, because characters in game had a fight. But PC1 followed them, because the BBEG, that she didn’t explicitly joined yet, ordered her to do so. Other party members were aware of that, but their characters were not.

Now, should I just kill PC1 off screen, or make her pop up as a rival to other PCs, saying that she joined the BBEG for good? I’m not going to make her a party npc for sure, that is completely off the table.

And if I kill her, there is a chance that players will learn about it faster then characters. Is that something to avoid?

[art][oc] Countess Saphira /u/Beholder_Testicles DnD: Roll for Initiative!

[art][oc] Countess Saphira /u/Beholder_Testicles DnD: Roll for Initiative!

This piece is all about Countess Saphira, my fierce and stunning mermaid character from the fantasy world I’m working on. I spent way too much time on the details here (looking at you, hair and scales), but it was absolutely worth it. The hair was the trickiest part—I wanted it to really feel like it’s underwater, flowing with that slow, hypnotic movement you’d see in the deep. I’m super happy with how it turned out: a mix of bold waves and delicate curls that almost have a life of their own, giving her a regal and ethereal vibe.

The scales took about as long as the hair, but I’m not even mad about it because the final result really pops. Adding the coral-colored accents was a late decision, but I think it made all the difference. It brought more depth and energy to the lower half of her design, making the scales look alive and dynamic—like they’re catching the light of some hidden ocean sun. The armor was a fun challenge too; I wanted it to feel organic but still sharp and battle-ready. Her chest piece and gauntlets look like they’ve grown out of the sea itself, intricate and spiny but perfectly functional for a leader who’s no stranger to the battlefield.

Countess Saphira might look like a dream, but don’t let that fool you. She’s not just a pretty face swimming through my setting. She’s a tactician, a leader who commands respect and wields her authority like a blade. She didn’t get to where she is by accident—her country and armies follow her because she’s clever, strategic, and unshakable in a fight. I like to imagine her standing at the helm of her forces, issuing orders with that calm intensity that makes even the fiercest warriors listen. There’s this underlying strength to her, a kind of quiet confidence that balances her beauty with a real sense of danger.

I wanted to bring all of that out in this piece. The elegance, the power, the subtle menace—it’s all there in her expression and pose. Her piercing gaze says she’s analyzing every move you might make, and the slight tilt of her head hints that she’s already five steps ahead. She’s graceful, deadly, and completely at home in the depths of her ocean kingdom. I’m beyond happy with how she turned out, and she’s quickly becoming one of my favorite characters to work on. Tell me what you think of her!

My girlfriend’s first character, Bruxa Evora! [art][comm] /u/ProfessorLovely DnD: Roll for Initiative!

A long time ago my girlfriend created her first DnD character: Bruxa Evora. It’s been several years since she was just a Level 1 Warlock. Now she’s a powerful Level 10 and leader of the Cult of the Wickerwax Devil! So for Christmas I got a commission of her favorite girl! It’s exciting to have a partner who’s willing to learn about my interests and even better when it turns into one of their interests ♥️❤️
