Celebrations and Festivals In Game [OC] [Art] /u/OlderNDumber DnD: Roll for Initiative!

During our recent live play session, the party finally arrived at the Tempest Fair, a vibrant celebration marking the arrival of the summer season in the bustling port city of Tapas. This annual festival is more than just a seasonal transition – it’s a symbolic time of renewal, where sailors and citizens alike gather to honor the changing winds and seek good fortune for the journeys ahead. The air was alive with anticipation, filled with laughter, music, and the scent of roasted delicacies drifting from market stalls.

In honor of the occasion, the party donned their finest attire, ready to immerse themselves in the revelry. From left to right, they presented a striking sight: RaRa Chiro, regal and poised; Moss Greywind, accompanied by the loyal Sable; Ketyh Felmor, with an aura of quiet confidence; and Fizziwick “Fizzy” Fizzbang, ever the eccentric with OBB perched loyally by their side. Together, they looked every bit the part of adventurers celebrating life’s fleeting joys.

The first day of the fair was a whirlwind of sights and sounds. Grand performances drew crowds from every corner, colorful banners rippled in the sea breeze, and lively games provided endless entertainment. But amidst the merriment, competition loomed – the first two rounds of the Sailors’ Challenge had begun. This highly coveted event is the pinnacle of the fair, testing skill, wit, and endurance, and our party decided to throw their hats into the ring.

Would they claim the grand prize and carve their names into the annals of the Tempest Fair’s history? Only time – and the winds of fate – will tell. For now, they are dressed to impress, spirits high, and ready to embrace the challenge ahead.

Have any of your games had any celebrations? How did they go?

Player commemorated their IRL transition with their PC bring back brought from hell with their new gender /u/KJ_Tailor DnD: Roll for Initiative!

I just wanted to share this really heartwarming story from my table.

One of my players recently came out as trans, and had thrived in their pics since. To commemorate the occasion, their character, who recently got sent to hell came back also transitioned to the players new gender.

I find it so cool and lovely that this something we can easily do and that it helps my playset to establish their new life this way.

That’s all 🙂

Sometimes planning is amazing. /u/scarr3g DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So, our group of six, 7th level, players were tasked to take down a Roc. We hired some fliers to take us there (they were ones bmthar hired us anyway), and overplanned the attack, with backups on top of backups.

End result: it never even got an attack in. It was stunned (thanks to the monk), saves were debuffed on it (to make the stunninf strikes easier), grappled (by an earth elemental from the druid) so it could fly away, and then a huge boulder was dropped on it (levitated by an Aarakocra player the pushed it over top). All the whilezthe rogue was sneak attacking it to smitherines, and the warlock was blasting away.

Absolute supremacy by our group.

We even snuck up on it, very successfully, thanks to a well placed “pass without trace” spell, and buffed by a bless.

When you can plan, do so. The first time we encounter this exact Roc, we had to run away, as it got the drop on us.
