Simulate Human Actions to Stay “online” /u/Chiaope CSCQ protests reddit

Simulate Human Actions to Stay “online” /u/Chiaope CSCQ protests reddit

Hey everyone, I made a Python package that simulates mouse and keyboard actions so you can stay “online” while you’re looking for new job opportunities.

Check it out here: Stay Online on PyPi

Basically, you just run it, and it mimics human-like mouse movements and keystrokes so your company’s IT can’t tell you’re not actually working. You can also tweak a few settings, like stopping the simulation when it’s time to log off, or adjusting how often the mouse and typing happen.

Would love to hear any feedback or suggestions to make this better. Appreciate it!

is defense really that much easier to get into? /u/hashmapSensei CSCQ protests reddit

I keep seeing so many people talk about defense companies/contractors as an “easy” way to get an internship or a job, but Is this really the case? I dont really remember that well, but last year when I tried to apply there was almost nothing for raytheon and lockheed, but idk.

How common is it to get a CS masters? Does it make a difference? /u/EastCommunication689 CSCQ protests reddit

How common is it to get a CS masters? Does it make a difference? /u/EastCommunication689 CSCQ protests reddit

Conventional wisdom is that getting a masters in CS is pointless: it’s better to just get industry experience.

But, amongst those of us who have industry experience: does getting a masters help your job prospects?

Also are a ton of people getting their masters? It seems like everyone and their mom is doing Georgia Tech’s online program. Is the market saturated at the CS masters level?

Looking for feedback from those who have done a part-time masters while still employed /u/ikarusfive CSCQ protests reddit

Looking for feedback from those who have done a part-time masters while still employed /u/ikarusfive CSCQ protests reddit

Background – 8 years YOE in software after completing my undergrad in comp sci, happy with my job and I don’t plan to quit or find work elsewhere.

I’m considering going back to get a part-time masters in computer science or similar, and wanted some feedback from anyone in the field that has done the same (key: while still employed). Funding is not too much of a concern as costs are low and I can try getting some scholarships, and my primary reason for pursuing a masters would be just personal growth – any bonus pay or career growth would be a secondary concern. Academically, my grades in the last 2 years of my undergrad were ~75-80% so I am on the cusp of most requirements but I’m hoping I can offset this with my work experience and networking.

Has anyone done this and can comment whether its a good idea? Was the course load too much? Did it interfere with work-life balance in an unhealthy way?Would you recommend it? I don’t really have a large list of questions but just looking for other’s opinions. DMs are open as well.
