Extra Degree/Certification to get while working /u/puppylover488 CSCQ protests reddit
I am a new grad working a good SWE job. My company provides 5k a year of educational assistance. My manager is very happy with the work that im doing and i seem to be in good standing. I do think though that I am not being challenged enough and could be learning more. At a recent meeting, he suggested taking advantage of the benefit and getting some kind of certification or degree on the side. My questions
1. Is pursuing any kind of outside education worthwhile if I have a good thing going at my current job and will likely be promoted in the coming years regardless.
- If I do pursue something, should I go for a certification (I am already AWS SA certified) or masters and what are the most worthwhile and a good balance of time and money for the educational value (also keep in mind I get 5k per year and I’m not really looking to spend much more than that)
