Unable to kill Vorkath for the next 2 weeks? /u/Pitch2Force Old School RuneScape!

My kids (3M and 7M) and I have a fun time PVMing together during leagues. They sit in my office with me and we go over the mechanics of the fights, then they “help” me by yelling out when they see stuff that I need to avoid. Last year, in Zeah, we had a blast going for the Dragon Warhammer while they yelled “PURPLE GUYS” every time the Shamans spawned their little purple guys.

Flash forward to this year’s leagues, and they’ve been watching me kill Vorkath on repeat for dragon dart tips. They enjoy telling me when to move for the fireballs, turn my prayers back on, and kill the scorpion. Unfortunately, last night they saw that Vorkath is wearing a santa hat. My 7 year old informed me that it’s not nice and they don’t want me to kill him anymore, because he’s too cute in his little hat… So I guess I’ve got to switch to implings for my new source of dragon darts.

The new Troll boss reward should include an upgrade to the Seercull bow /u/Crosspolaris Old School RuneScape!

Reasons this makes sense:

  1. Seercull examine text: “An ancient Fremennik bow that was once used to battle the Moon Clan.” This is highly thematic because it involves protecting a Fremennik warrior with help from his “oneiromancer” (moon clan) friend.
  2. This activity heavily involves ranged via bows.
  3. The Seercull is mostly dead content.

Possible ideas for upgrades:

  1. Stat boost? – range + ranged dmg (lean into longbow or comp bow archetypes?)
  2. Passive effect? – Add magic def drain on hit? (can lean into a ranged/mage hybrid playstyle. For example, a boss could be *extremely* weak to fire, but high magic def causes spells to mostly splash unless you drain it).
  3. Improve special? – reduce cost, improved effect
  4. Allow bow to roll against the opponent’s magic def? *dangerous* – This could be cool if the stats stay low, but it’s very dangerous.

These are just ideas- I will update this post as I see suggestions that resonate with me.

Update1: fixed formatting

Pendant of Ates should be added to the Portal Nexus room of the POH /u/soulsofjojy Old School RuneScape!

Title. It’s basically the exact same item as Xerics Talisman, with the same functionality and same charge system, for its sister region.

Add another two item mount spaces on the opposite side of the Nexus room. The new 3rd slot will be for the Pendant, and cost a large chunk of frozen tears. The 4th can be for some future item.

I am convinced that Abyssal Sire is the worst boss in the game. How has this not been updated yet? /u/SoggyGummyWorms Old School RuneScape!

I have max gear with 600 kc and pet with 2 bludgeon pieces that will most likely never be completed. I do blood barrage method and I am not stingy with supplies.

Before I say why, I will say that the looks and design of the boss itself are great, it’s a cool looking boss and the designer should be proud of that aspect. However, the mechanics are absolutely awful and just not worth doing for the drops you get.

The Abyssal Nexus is MASSIVE and it’s quite a run to it. Yes, I did the POH method for about 100 kills and noticed how much time I was actually wasting doing it so I stopped.

The 4 respiratory systems should be taken out. If they were even reduced to 2 it would be far less tedious. That on top of having to shadow barrage him to put him to sleep. This is not fun.

Then you have to wait for him to wake up and come out and do multiple animations throughout the fight while invulnerable which is just a waste of time and obnoxious. Just make him walk out of his sleeping nest soon as you approach him and start the fight.

Then you have to focus on dodging the poison pool and not go near the tentacles, and watch your hp from minions so you can barrage them to get your hp back up. Then it becomes a “kill him before he kills me” situation.

I used to think that Kraken and Grotesque Guardians were the worst boss but after revisiting them and noticing the updates and QoL they got, I actually enjoy them far more compared to Sire. The fishing explosives on kraken is awesome and the lightning phases on GG’s being reduced down to one time and being faster is amazing. Also item drops lasting 3 hours on the floor is great, this means I dont have to pick them up immediately and can keep ringing the bell and fight them until the floor is covered in loot.

Is there actually another boss in the game that’s worse than Abyssal Sire? I honestly can’t think of any apart from maybe KQ.
