Who first installed Steam after buying the Half-Life collection PC game box? /u/igmyeongui Steam on Reddit

I remember being shocked that I had to install Steam and enter my CD keys in order to play. I didn’t understand the point of having a game launcher. Never would have I believed that one day most of my games would be in this launcher and that could connect to a Steam Deck. Hey man in 20 years there’ll be a giant gameboy which will play your pc games but the battery life will suck! From all the companies out there that are enshitifying, I’m glad to say Steam is still one of the best platform out there.

Steam Family Question /u/AmethystDev Steam on Reddit

I just joined a family in which most of the games are mine. if I own a game and someone else playing my copy do I get priority? if I start that game will it kick the other person off and let me play?

Achievement pop-ups broken? /u/MakiMakiiii Steam on Reddit

Achievement pop-ups broken? /u/MakiMakiiii Steam on Reddit

Whenever I get an achievement on steam, I don’t get the pop-up or credit until I close the game, THEN I get all the pop ups from the session. Like why does it do this, it’s super annoying especially when I try to achievement hunt. I never messed with any of my settings and I don’t even think there’s a setting that allows this.

Things I’ve done to attempt to fix it – Sign out then sign in again – uninstall steam and reinstall – turn pop ups off and on

Any help would be appreciated.
