exercises/techniques for making penetration less painful? /u/emmieafterdark Sex

so about a year-ish ago, i had a doctor diagnose me with vaginismus brought on by trauma i had as a kid. as you can imagine, this makes penetration of ANY kind extremely painful for me (sex, gyno exams, tampons, etc).

while this isn’t a huge deal for me in terms of sex–i haven’t had an in-person sexual partner in years, and don’t finish from penetration alone anyway–it’s still something i’d like to resolve lol. i was referred out to a PT, but due to working a lot i haven’t had much chance to schedule anything.

with that said, does anyone have suggestions for how to get my body used to penetration? i know there are pelvic floor exercises i can do, which i’m trying to get into the habit of doing, and i’ve been using sex toys to “practice” on but that hasn’t helped much yet. meditation is the only thing i probably can’t do because my adhd simply will not allow it lol

if there are specific toys that anyone especially recommends, i’m all ears! thanks lovelies ❤️
