First time playing and it feels… weird. /u/danjanah DnD: Roll for Initiative!

A friend of mine asked me if i (27/M) want to join their new dnd campaign, I always wanted to try it out so I agreed obviously.

I picked a human monk, from the Astral Self subclass, and invested a lot in my wisdom since it’s a part of what the class does, I also picked precepction preception (the DM suggested both of those when we made the character), my character’s personality is kinda dummy since he’s suffering from amnesia so everything is a bit new to him.

In the last session the DM decided to “target” my character and make him suffer.

For few nights in a row he made “Babies cry sound” in the middle of the night, and since my character has the highest Passive preception in the party (16) he’s the only one who awakened from the sounds. Another think to note is that a wizard NPC that with us act kinda sus and my character is really feels like he’s up to something, so the 2 is in a real beef and the wizard even cast some type of spell on my monk (still don’t know which one)

The session ended up as all the party think my character is just going crazy with my obsession about the wizard and I’m just making things up.

At the end of the session the DM told us we leveled up (to level 4) so I did what anyone who appreciate a good rollplaying and thematically accurate builds would do, and maximized my Wisdom score to 20 with the Observant feat, which made my passive preception score to 22.

Really curious to see how this campaign will end up (and hope i won’t die in the process 😬 )
