Just having shower thoughts while thinking about my Athletic character’s speed if they had Longstrider. It didn’t actually math out to be magic-enhanced athlete-level fast. So again, not arguing anything, just shower thoughts, why mechanically doesn’t 5e use Dex or Con or Athletics or anything to let you physically become faster?
I imagine it’s balance or QoL, but just wondering if any more experienced players know about this. cheers
