I have an offer to earn $25,000 more but it requires me to go on-site. The hiring manager told me they’re basically hybrid but HR said that they are requiring people to be on-site. The commute is about 1 hour each way. I have kids in daycare by my house, which I do not feel good about being so far away from them.
My current job is going to raise our salaries across the board, minimum 5% or more depending, and current job is completely remote.
I do want a job change, as I was laid off and started this new job but it’s not … it’s not for me. I love being remote, as I have been for 5 years now. But I don’t like the place I’m at. Yet, I can’t trust that the hiring manager for this new offer can ensure that I remain hybrid. I don’t know.
Advice ?
