help me!! please /u/Amazing_End4356 Python Education

im a freshman in college studying CS and i recently got my first sem grades back and well, i failed…horribly (like 20/100 horribly). i feel so lost and i dont even know where to start improving. the biggest issue is that i struggle to come up with solutions to code problems.

every week, we’re assigned exercises and practice questions in a tutorial group and i rarely know how to approach those questions. i’ve become HEAVILY dependent on chatgpt to just write the code for me. and i can understand how the code works once it’s written but i cant seem to figure out the solutions on my own. in my last tutorial group, my tutor had to tell me word for word what to write andi just felt so stupid and inferior.

i’ve tried watching YouTube tutorials and using LeetCode, but they often don’t explain why they’re doing certain things in enough detail. i feel like i need a comprehensive, in-depth explanation of Python from the ground up to truly understand.

does anyone know how or even IF i can learn how to write code? my finals that are worth 60% of my final grades are in like 5 months and i literally don’t know anything and i’m just so frustrated and i feel like i wont be able to learn in time. what do i do
