I was moved teams and now considering leaving, looking for advice /u/Vintekk CSCQ protests reddit

Hi, I found out that I’ll be moving teams at work to a different teams in a few weeks. I don’t know the reasoning behind it (going to find out) but its not performance/teamwork related for sure.

I don’t specifically know what the new team does but from what I’ve seen they primarily work on databases and APIs for something and not much else, whereas my current team is the standard full stack development which I prefer.

I’ve been considering changing jobs for the past few months anyway as I feel like I have burnt out from this place, both from the work I was doing (don’t really feel like I’ve learned much the past few months and have just been coasting along) and the company itself (decisions such as this, where I was given no prior heads up about anything or even asked how I’d feel about it) but now that this has happened, I feel like leaving asap

I’ll still give it a go in the new team but I feel unlikely as to staying regardless of what happens, and despite this new team work being something different than what I’ve been doing for a while now, I still don’t know of I want to stick around as it is the same company in the end. Alongside this change a bunch of other changes are “apparently” coming, some of which were are my concerns regarding this place – mainly progression, development and pay rises but this has been promised time and time again and nothing significant ever happened

I’ve been at this place for 3 yrs now (2 not counting internship year) and its my first job out of college and just have a feeling that maybe its time to go regardless of what happens as I dont want to stick to one company forever, thats for sure, and the only real reason why I am still here is the people that I work with in my current team, but now that this will no longer be the case I feel like there’s nothing left

Does anyone have any advice? Feel like I’ve already made my mind up but wondering what anyone else thinks (and I also keep second guessing myself i.e. what if I end up liking the work at the new team)

Thanks!
