Was Threatened to be Reported for Farming Cloth /u/PhantumJak World of Warcraft

I saw a post about the Murlocs in Hallowfall being a good source of cloth so I went to check it out. There were quite a number of people there. I kid you not, within 2 minutes of being there I received a message to leave “or my whole group will report you.”

wtf?

I ended up reporting him for chat harassment with my comment being something like “Player admitted they were willing to abuse the report system by threatened to falsely report me for farming cloth. Basically told me to leave the area or they’d report me.”

I ended up farming for another 30 minutes without incident before joining my friend for some other content. But honestly I was paranoid I’d be DC’d any minute cause of how automated the report system is.

Why are people like this?
