Hi C:
So my boyfriend just came home with some fun clothes from the thrift store today & came back home with a very confusing vest.
I’ve looked it up & apparently it’s called a “linked button hole” type of vest.
Imagine a smooth, thin vest under dinner jackets.
But the twist is.., it doesn’t come with any buttons; instead there are button holes on both sides.
No buttons. Just holes.
And so, apparently, it’s made for cuff links….?
I can picture it vaguely, yes.
But for some reason, I am struggling to find more references online.
What exactly do I have to look up to see more images of this particular kind of vest?
I never knew men’s clothing could be so bizarre & difficult.
Does anyone else have this type of vest? C:
Well…, it apparently was more common in the 19th century to the early 20th century.
(We are considering getting those pretty chained cufflinks or- well, the dark polished ones or metal types that looks shiny & just lovely. It should work. We just need more references to brain storm with C: )
TLDR: Hoping for experts & distinguished gentlemen with answers to help find more results online, Thank you
