What do you love the most about your current character? /u/smolsheriff DnD: Roll for Initiative!

For me, it’s how far my Tiefling Order of Scribes wizard has grown as a character and as a person, I’m lucky enough to have played him for 3 years now, and I’m really proud how far he’s gone as a character and me as a player who started as an anxious beginner 3 years ago as well!

He was someone who never felt he had a say in his life as he was born to eventually take over as leader to the community his mother led, only to find his voice through learning magic. When he was forced to flee from home when his mother was killed by a group of intruders, he turned from an anxious, awkward and cowardly guy who hated confrontation into someone who grew extremely loyal to his friends, confident enough to stand up for himself and to trust his magic, and strong enough to fight for everyone. His traumas still weigh over him, but he keeps pushing on cause of the crew -no- his new family, by his side.

He still hates confrontation, but he turned that flaw into negotiation or just talking things out which has led to some amazing RP moments. One being an evil NPC who he realized is being used as a pawn by the BBEG. One of the virtues he lives by is ‘second chances’ which his hometown is built off of. Despite facing off against someone who could easily cut him down in a blink of an eye, he talked, offering a second chance to the NPC to fight back against the BBEG to reclaim their freedom. They let us all go, but the NPC died afterwards trying to fight the BBEG. That moment really stuck to me as a player, but it was that moment I realized how much my wizard has grown to that point. Hell, he would’ve tried to run in the past! Am I’m so proud of him 🥹 I’m also grateful of my DM too for being so amazing. I couldn’t have grown so much without his guidance.

Ah! I’m gushing here, tell me about your character and what you love about them! Abilities, story wise, anything. Tell me your stories!
