I’ll be graduating with a CS degree from a good Canadian university this year, and I’ve been applying to entry level jobs since November with little success.
Situation:
- I’m just an average to above average student, no exceptional accomplishments.
- I only have a single internship from a basically unknown company.
- There’s been so much conflicting advice regarding projects, I have no idea what I should be doing.
- I’ve sent out over 100 applications to pretty much any job opening looking for a CS degree, and have received a single interview out of the bunch.
Worries:
- Because I’m from Canada, I’m worried that the need for sponsorship excludes me out of any US jobs.
- Since I have so little intern experience, my resume is just getting auto filtered.
- Some other factor that I haven’t even thought about.
Here is an anonymized version of my resume: https://imgur.com/a/46H9IHR
I’d appreciate any advice on what steps I can take to improve my chances of landing a job, thank you.
