Could Arthur fighting the robot logically be canon? /u/Traditional_Bad_8305 Red Dead Redemption

I couldn’t get the possibility of this scene being able to be canon out of my head and thought of two scenarios for it that I feel are pretty air tight.

Scenario A:

Arthur got drunk and decided to follow the professors lantern- found, fought and killed the robot then completely forgot about it the next day.

Scenario B:

Arthur (sober) followed the lantern and connected the dots that the robot killed the professor then proceeded to finish it off- I could see him truly not being able to describe what happened to the camp or them not believing him so he’d just write it off. To be fair, while this might take the cake, but he’s seen his fair share of weird shit he just keeps to himself.
