How do you react when someone tells you their height and it’s obvious they’re not as tall as they say? /u/K-Pumper No such thing as stupid questions

This happens all the time to me. I feel like the large majority of people, men especially, think they’re taller than they actually are. I don’t even think people are lying about their heights, I think many people genuinely believe they are taller than they are

I’m 5’7” and anytime I tell someone how tall I am I get the “You can’t possibly be 5’7” because you’re taller than me and I’m 5’9”!”

Anyway yesterday one of my coworkers said he was 6ft. I’d put this dude at 5’9” or maybe 5’10” MAX. I didn’t say anything, but I was so tempted to.

Does this ever happen to you?

Edit: I think doctor’s offices are partly to blame. I’ve been measured anywhere from 5’6” to 5’9” depending on the doctor I go to
