What’s stopping a bank’s database manager from simply adding millions to their account? /u/Gabo71 No such thing as stupid questions

Aside from being found out and sent to jail, is there a technical reason that would impede them from modifying the number of dollars on their account?

Edit: I should have specified, if you basically create money out of nowhere, would that have an effect anywhere else?
