Ok, so somewhere a month ago I posted here with my crying about Diablos and how he smacked my ass. Thanks to your support I’ve managed to beat the campaign both base and Iceborn with my partner. I’ve done it with IG and I think it spoiled me too much. Easy to dodge mechanics, no hard combos or whatever. I’m trying to find some other mobile and quick weapons to have some variety in Guiding Lands.
So for now I’ve tried SNS (my main in base Rise (I’m playing as shit anyway)), LS, Hammer, Bow, and LBG. I want to have 1-3 melee weapons and one range depending on the Monster.

For now SNS is great. Perfect Rush is hard to do, jumping back is never executed as dodge with I-frames but still quick and fun. I’m bad at timings, shield saved my ass sometimes.

Lbg is easy and tedious. Ammo this, ammo that, craft during the fight, dodge and reload, well it’s ok. Last resort for Kushala.

LS is strange. I love the playstyle, I love the katana style but I’m bad at countering, too slow and it feels like a good solo weapon, but not for duo coop. Maybe I’m just bad, but if the monster is flying I’m slow and useless if the monster is as quick as Nargacuga, I’m useless. Any time I want to try to counter Monster feels this and is always switching to my duo or Palico.

Hammer. Oh god, it’s slow and fast at once. Kind of bland as I didn’t figure out how to play it, all damage starts with charge, rung into the head, spin, some brain massage for a Monster, repeat. There are some cool moves but I feel I can stung a little less, but still can with SNS. And cut tails. And been mobile. And mountings. And be quick.

Bow feels so nice when you have stamina. And I always fall into the trap of stamina. I wish it was a little bit more range.
Well, any tips to choose weapons as an alternative for IG and duo coop? My partner is DB and sometimes LBG, but mostly DB. I love simple combos, easy to execute but maybe some interesting mini-mechanic. IG in this term frets perfectly.
