In my desperation to get a decent paying job to start my career, I accepted a developer role that mainly uses OpenROAD by Actian and some other version of SQL. It seems like an alright OOP language for desktop development, and a quick search shows that there are big companies who use it (HSBC, Lufthansa), but I’m still worried about my chances with companies that don’t use OpenROAD.
My question is, how likely am I to get accepted at other companies that use the same or more popular languages, like Java or C#, after a year of working here?
