A question about Artificers
I’m crafting an Artificer character for an upcoming campaign.
I first envisioned my character as some kind of artisan’s apprentice who can craft steampunk-like gadgets and weapons and hoped for some kind of invention skill, but after reading through some stuff I found on Artificers, it seems like all they can do is add magical effects to regular items or infuse mundane items with magic to make them special, rather than invent or build brand-new items.
Do any of you know a way my character could still be able to do this?
Homebrew is allowed!
