Is it typical to avoid eating a certain food for a long time if you had a stomach bug after eating it one time? /u/calicodynamite No such thing as stupid questions

When I was a little kid my whole family got the stomach bug. I happened to start puking after having Taco Bell for dinner so I refused to eat anything from there for like 10 years. I eat there all the time now so I am over it, and at the time we knew it wasn’t Taco Bell’s fault. We caught a stomach bug from a family friend’s kids, definitely not food poisoning. But it still grossed me out too much to eat it or something after puking it back up lol. Is this something a lot of people do? Is 10 years too long?
