Steam Big Picture Mode startup movie drives me nuts /u/sexpressed Steam on Reddit

90% of the time, I use Steam on my gaming PC, which is connected to my living room TV. When I launch Steam, it’s from the couch with a controller. Because of this setup, I use Big Picture Mode, for obvious reasons.

I get so frustrated, though, because BPM has a startup movie that I can’t disable. It wouldn’t be so bad if the movie played in 16:9 to match my TV’s aspect ratio, but the startup movies are all in 16:10 to match the Steam Deck. There’s no way to tell BPM that my TV is 16:9 to adjust accordingly, leaving me with a video that I don’t want playing at an aspect ratio that doesn’t fit.

Has anyone figured out a way around this?
