Back in October 2024 Blizzard acknowledged MMR issues that were affecting arena, especially solo shuffle with this post: https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/arena-rating-adjustments-underway-october-22/1990291
They then made a minor adjustment with the goal of reducing the disparity between Solo Shuffle and BG Blitz ratings and rewards, but unfortunately that alignment was not sufficient and hasn’t worked out as recent numbers show the gap has only grown bigger:
NA Blitz R1 spot: 3472
NA Shuffle R1 spot: 2826
Difference: almost 650 rating
The difference is even worse for healers, with only one healer, yes just 1, in the top 100 Solo Shuffle players. There are only 6 healers past 2700 rating in Solo Shuffle at the moment.
NA Blitz top healer: 3524 rating
NA Shuffle top healer: 2740 rating
Difference: almost 800 rating
Making things more difficult for healers is the fact that in Solo Shuffle, healer MMR is deflated 200-300 points compared to DPS for a variety of reasons (healer 3-3, separate ladder for healers with smaller pool of players, etc). Several hundred healers that can get Legend this season are stuck at 2300 because of deflation just going 3-3 against each other and barely moving.
In the same Blizzard Blue post linked above, the Devs communicated that they would continue to monitor the health of each of the rated ladders. With around 6 weeks left to go in the season, there is still something that can be done to remedy this issue and improve queue times for DPS players.
TLDR: Solo Shuffle is just one minor MMR bump away (even just 100 MMR) from helping healers attain their seasonal goals.
