Campaign idea I simply have to share. /u/DoccyWoccyPengin DnD: Roll for Initiative!

So I’m in the slow and steady process or creating a dnd campaign with a twist that I haven’t been able to share with anyone due to the fact that I am unsure which of my friends will be taking part in said campaign and therefore I don’t want to spoil it.

So the campaign will be set in your typical “awful government” society, with the big bad boss being the president. Good people are in jail for seemingly no reason, and all those in control are genuinely terrible people.

However, in his final moments after the party kills him, the president seems to wake up. It turns out, a curse has been placed on the entire kingdom which reversed the hearts of everyone living there. This made bad people good, and good people bad. So the party effectively spent the first part of the campaign ruining the kingdom even more by releasing bad people onto the streets from jail cells etc, and hurting/killing genuine good and innocent citizens. (Or, if the party go crazy they’ve been killing bad people instead of good. Who knows with that lot.)

It’s an idea I’m so excited to play out. I feel like the big reveal that the hearts of everyone inside the kingdom are actually switched will be a massive “Oh god what have we done.” Moment.
