It seems they’re deliberately trying to make CS less shiny while hiring more now than the last couple years. If these companies are exploitative, wouldn’t they keep on the facade of CS being cushy and chill and cool so more hiring and churning can give them continued access to fresh talent who’ll work hard?
Even if they wanted to use AI to replace engineers, what value does it create to publicize this and make themselves less appealing as companies to join when less cutting-edge tech firms are chiller and pay fairly well (ie Bloomberg)?
Tldr: Why are they so loud about this as opposed to being discrete? Almost like they want less people joining and applying (or less of the ones only in it for $$$)…
