Reddit used to have the reputation of being “extreme” yet Facebook is somehow still recognized as “normal” social media. What happened? /u/chetting No such thing as stupid questions

People used to lump Reddit and 4chan, even 8chan, together. Claiming that Reddit was full of incels and extremists and super toxic. I’ve been on Reddit for years now and I’ve never found this to be true. Sure, there’s some, but there’s some toxicity everywhere.

Yet for over a decade now, it has been well established that Facebook is a hub for extremism and for radicalization. How did we get to this point? And how do people not recognize the danger that is Facebook, yet still claim Reddit is “full of creeps”?
