I’m 24 (m), Canadian but my parents are from the U.S.. I currently live in NH. My mom is of British and Irish background. Tonight we were sorting through some old photo albums and I saw a picture of my grandparents wedding in the early 1950s in NYC. My mom told me it was a miracle that it happened because it was a mixed Catholic-Protestant marriage. She told me that my great grandpa who was a KKK member in southern PA at the time only reluctantly accepted the marriage and said it was a shame his son married an Irish Catholic from NYC. He refused to attend the wedding. Did the KKK hate Catholics as well?
