In the 90s, was the internet looked at with as much fear and concern as AI is today? /u/Typhoid007 No such thing as stupid questions

I was born in the 90s but I don’t remember the general feeling behind the internet at the time. I see so many people concerned about the rise of AI and how it will effect jobs, art and society. We all know how much the Internet changed everyday life, but were we as concerned about it when it was in its early stages?
