I want to play a Warlock but I have doubts /u/Spare_Mix7730 DnD: Roll for Initiative!

As the title says, I’ve only played 1 game over a few sessions, because my DM… well, he left, and I’ve only played a Paladin, The thing is that for now, I won’t be using that one, and given the lack of magical characters I wanted to try to see if I could create a Warlock, I love the offensive power, and the comic horror theme, I’ve read the player’s handbook, Tasha, and Xanathor, and I’m easily leaning towards Great Old One, Fathomless or Hexblade, my problem is in the offense, I like the offense but reading, I’ve noticed that the best is Hexblade, and I wanted help, since even reading, I notice that Great Old One is more like variety, Fathomless offers mostly control and area power, and Hexblade I think is the most offensive, Therefore, I wanted to focus on the damage as well as the story [because with what I’ve read, the options to do the story with the hexblade are quite few] and I wanted to ask, which one could be “better” From the point of view of Roleplaying or history [as well as the range, because I had that doubt with the hexblade if the attack is short because it is a weapon or I am the car that does not read the manual well] thank you very much for reading and I appreciate your help
