Dress Shirt – How much tailoring is possible? Is it cost effective? /u/Lockon007 /r/malefashionadvice

Howdy friends, so a couple months ago I spilled red-wine all over my nice dress shirt, so I had to go hunt for some new one. I decided to invest in some Eton shirts – but bought a couple used one for dirt cheap on Poshmark to test it out first.

I got 2 of different size to determine sizing. One of them fits great and will be my size moving forward, but the other is a classic cut, which looks *way* too baggy for me, but holy shit is the fabric and pattern nice. They’re immaculate. I am debating if it’s worth an effort tailoring it down, else I’ll pass it to Goodwill. It’ll need like a solid 2in on both side in the body and a solid 1.5in in the sleeves and arm holes.

Tho it occured to me that this might not be possible or cost effective.

Just wanted a quick sanity question before I hauled my ass to the tailor next week (nearest tailor is still a decent trek from the office)

Has anyone here gotten their shirt tailored that much?

How much did you pay?

How was the end-result?

Thanks!
