I bought the Firefly Yoni from Amazon, which is supposedly pure silicone. When it arrived the box wasn’t taped shut and the toy wasn’t shrinkwrapped or anything. It didn’t look like it had been opened or used, but I worried the toy might have been opened or used because it wasn’t sealed.
I washed it in soap and water and then Boiled it for 20 minutes. However after boiling the toy it looked like it was peeling. It appeared to have some kind of peeling white film or skin on it which came off when I rubbed my finger on it. The toy doesn’t seem damaged, and it doesn’t look like pieces of the toy are actually coming off. After scraping the film off the toy looks like it’s fine. I think it might just be minerals in the water sticking to the toy and then coming off but I don’t know.
I’m really worried, both that I might’ve gotten a used toy, or that it might not really be silicone. Has anyone had a similar experience? Am I just worrying about this too much? Can minerals in the water do this?
