Boyfriend wants to be bottom /u/throwaway_45108 Sex

So, my (20s F) boyfriend (20s M) is less experienced than me. He had one sexual relationship before me, but that didn’t last long.

He knows he likes a dominant woman, he likes to be topped. I am not opposed to giving him a ride, taking control of pace and caressing him, but I would really like for him to do this stuff back to me. I told him, I want to be bottom sometimes. He said he just isn’t good on top, he doesn’t know how to operate. We tried like twice, both times lasted for 20 seconds, he gave up and asked to switch positions. I told him I was unsatisfied and would like him to initiate being on top more often, but he says he doesn’t like to be pushed and wants to go on his own pace.

So I let him. I didn’t say anything, but he didn’t try again. We are LDR, so our meet ups are every other month. I feel bad for saying this, but I feel like I am going to get resentful if he doesn’t initiate being on top the next time we see each other. How do I bring this up to him?
