With jagex’s annual survey out, the perennial question is once again being asked of the community:

How interested would you be in……minigames e.g. fist of guthix, stealing creation

And I’m here to remind you that even if you think you are interested in this, you are not. People CLAMORED for years for soul wars. They remembered how fun it was to play when they were a kid, just like stealing creation, just like fist of guthix. Be truly honest with yourself – if you wanted soul wars, how much do you play it now?

The answer is almost definitely none. Nobody is playing minigames for fun in 2024, you play them for bis rewards. People play pest control and barb assault, and they do not play soul wars and castle wars. The distinction is very simple and obvious – if it isn’t “worth it”, if it isn’t advancing your account, people don’t wanna do it.

I’m not here to lament the death of casual scape or reminisce on how I was top 25 rank in fist of guthix as a child. I’m just here to state the obvious: minigames are a waste of dev time and you are not interested in them, even if you think you are.
