A Quick rules check, if I have a character with very high movement (let’s say 80 for the sake of arguement), I charge in (lets day with half the movement) with a reach weapon and stay at 10 away and then use the rest of my movement to run away, I assume the enemy wouldn’t get an opportunity attack (assuming they didn’t have a reach weapon themselves)
