Are things like “county fairs” an exclusively American thing? /u/cowboyromussy No such thing as stupid questions

I was raised in rural ohio where I went to the county fair each year. I was raised around livestock showmen, I show livestock now, so a county fair has pretty much been a staple of my life for years. Whenever I talk to someone who’s non-american they seem confused by the things that happen at county fairs. I can’t tell if this is because they are an only American thing or if Americans just do batshit things at Fairs.
